MGA SAGOT NILA. :))

Questions:
1. Give the significance of using the resistor in an electrical circuit.
2. What is more efficient to use: a resistor with high tolerance or a resistor with low tolerance? WHY?

A resistor limits the amount of current that can flow through a circuit based the resistance of the resistor.

A resistor is a passive two-terminal electrical component that implements electrical resistance as a circuit element. Resistors act to reduce current flow, and, at the same time, act to lower voltage levels within circuits. In electronic circuits resistors are used to limit current flow, to adjust signal levels, bias active elements, terminate transmission lines among other uses. High-power resistors that can dissipate many watts of electrical power as heat may be used as part of motor controls, in power distribution systems, or as test loads for generators. Resistors may have fixed resistances that only change a little with temperature, time or operating voltage. Variable resistors can be used to adjust circuit elements (such as a volume control or a lamp dimmer), or as sensing devices for heat, light, humidity, force, or chemical activity. EHEM! WHAHAHAH.

If we are going to talk about Resistors, it is essentially connected with circuits. Resistor, is any device of material that limits the flow of current when emf is applied. It is a device that is usually made of wire or carbon

Who Invented the Resistor?

Otis Boykin – Inventor of the Resistor
Many times we simply use our computer and computerized devices with no thought about all the intricate parts that goes into it operation. We do not think about the fan that keeps it cool so it does not overheat and shut off or malfunction. And we do not think about small parts like resistors which help control the amount of electricity that allowed to flow through the device. Over the years, many inventors such as Otis Boykin have contributed to all the components that make up the computers we so heavily rely on each day.

IT DO EXIST!

 Check This Out!

"I've just found something really interesting (at least for me). Did you ever see 0 Ω resistor? I just found it few days ago and cant figure out what is it's purpose. Can someone maybe tell me what could be it's use? (the instrument is showing around 0,2 Ω but it is resistance from the instrument alone...) If someone does not trust me - he can see the pictures that I just took.

The Discovery of Electricity

The Discovery of Electricity

In the old Quaker city of Philadelphia the people were laughing at a man named Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin Franklin who is now known as the famous discoverer of electricity. One day the people brought news that Mr. Franklin was making a kite.
